Modern English School Cairo is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this academic year 2014-2015. The school’s growth and development since 1990 when it was set up in Cairo has been astounding in its magnitude, bewildering in its intensity and incredible in its success. This important milestone in our history gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect, with some degree of awe, on those 25 years of tremendous accomplishment.
Founded in 1990, and with a current enrolment of 2135 students aged 3.5 to 18 years, Modern English school Cairo (MES Cairo) provides its students with a comprehensive international education. Our school is acknowledged as a centre of excellence and has received many awards, memberships and accreditations. MES Cairo has recently hosted four successful accreditation visits. All four visiting teams, IBO, BSME/BSO. AdvancED and MSA were extremely impressed with our school and its achievements. MES Cairo received outstanding reports from them all.

In the Primary years, MES Cairo provides a 21st Century education based upon the National Curriculum of England. Specialists in France, music, Art, PE and ICT teach the students throughout their Primary and Secondary years. In the Secondary Department, students have the option to graduate with either British or American or International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme qualifications. IGCSE, AS, A Level, IBDP and AP results are consistently excellent. All the programmes include Ministry of Education Arabic, Religious Studies and Civil Studies courses, delivered by highly trained professionals who are able to tailor those courses to meet the needs of each student, including those who choose to study them through Arabic as a Foreign Language. MES Cairo graduates are accepted by top universities in Egypt, the UK, USA and Canada.
In today’s rapidly advancing world, MES Cairo has made it a priority to be constantly updating and enhancing its facilities, which include advanced Library/Learning Media Centres, advanced technology in every classroom, numerous science laboratories, sic ICT suites, a 400-seater theatre, two Drama studios, two Design Technology workshops, two swimming pools, a sports field and athletic track, a large sports hall, three multi-purpose halls, volleyball/basketball courts and a Dance studio.
